Faith - Creative Dynamic (New Testament)
9 : 20 - And behold, a woman, who had an
issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the border of
his garment: for she said within herself, If
I do but touch his garment, I shall be made whole. But Jesus turning and
seeing her said, Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
Matthew 21 : 21 - Now
in the morning as he returned to the city, he hungered. And seeing a fig
tree by the way side, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves
only; and he saitd to it, Let there be no fruit from you henceforward
for ever. And immediately the fig tree withered away. And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How did the fig tree immediately wither
away? And Jesus answered and said to them, Verily I say to you, If you
have faith, and doubt not, you shall not only
do what is done to the fig tree, but even if you shall say to this mountain,
Be taken up and cast into the sea, it shall be done. And all things, whatever
you shall ask in prayer, believing,
you shall receive.
6 : 4 - he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief.
: 23 - And one of the multitude answered him, Teacher, I brought
to you my son, who has a dumb spirit; and whereever it takes him, it dashes
him down: and he foams, and grinds his teeth, and pines away: and I spoke
to your disciples that they should cast it
out; and they were not able. And he answered them and said, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you?
how long shall I bear with you? bring him to me. And they brought him
to him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tore him grievously;
and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. And he asked his father,
How long time is it since this has come to him? And he said, From a child.
And oft-times it has cast him both into the fire and into the waters,
to destroy him: but if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us. And Jesus said to him, If you can! All things are possible to him that believes. Straightway
the father of the child cried out, and said, I believe;
help my unbelief. And when Jesus saw that a multitude came running together,
he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to
him, You dumb and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and enter
no more into him. And having cried out, and torn him much, he came out:
and the boy became as one dead; insomuch that the more part said, He is
dead. But Jesus took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose.
And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately,
How is it that we could not cast it out? And he said to them, This kind
can come out by nothing, save by prayer.
10 : 27 - Jesus looking upon them said, With men it is
impossible, but not with God: for all
things are possible with God.
11 : 22 - All things whatever you pray
and ask for, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them..
4 : 14 - And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and a fame went out concerning him through all the region
round about. And he taught in their synagogues,
being glorified of all. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought
up: and he entered, as his custom was, into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read. And there was delivered to him the book of
the prophet Isaiah. And he opened
the book, and found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
14 : 12 - Verily, verily, I say to you,
he that believes on me, the works that I do shall
he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to the Father. And whatever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that
the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you shall ask anything in my name, that will I do.
3 : 11 - And as he held Peter and John, all the people ran together
to them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering. And
when Peter saw it, he answered to the people, You men of Israel, why marvel
you at this man? or why fasten you your eyes on us, as though by our own
power or godliness we had made him to walk? The God of Abraham, and of
Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant
Jesus; whom you delivered up, and denied before the face of Pilate,
when he had determined to release him. But you denied the Holy and Righteous
One, and asked for a murderer to be granted unto you, and killed the Prince of life; whom God raised
from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. And by faith in his name has his name made this man strong, whom you behold and know:
yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness
in the presence of you all.
1 : 17 - For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith to faith: as it is written, But the righteous shall live
9 : 30 - What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, who followed
not after righteousness, attained to righteousness, even the righteousness
which is of faith: but Israel, following after a law of righteousness, did not arrive at that law. Wherefore? Because
they sought it not by faith, but as it were by works. They stumbled at
the stone of stumbling; even as it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence: And he that believes on him
shall not be put to shame.
Corinthians 2 : 1 - And I, brethren, when I came to you, came
not with excellency of speech or of wisdom,
proclaiming to you the testimony of God.
For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus
Christ, and him crucified. And I was
with you in weakness, and in fear,
and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not in persuasive
words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: that your faith should not
stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
3 : 9 .... no man is justified by the law before God, is evident: for, The righteous shall live by faith;
and the law is not of faith; but, He
that does them shall live in them. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law,
having become a curse for us
11 : 6 - And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing
to him; for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him.
11 : 7 - By faith Noah, being warned of God concerning things not seen as yet, moved with godly
fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; through which he
condemned the world, and became heir
of the righteousness which is according to faith. By faith Abraham, when
he was called, obeyed to go out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance;
and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he became a sojourner
in the land of promise, as in a land not his
own, dwelling in tents, with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the
same promise: for he looked for the city which has the foundations, whose
builder and maker is God. By faith even Sarah herself received power to
conceive seed when she was past age, since
she counted him faithful who had promised: wherefore also there sprang
of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of heaven in multitude,
and as the sand, which is by the sea-shore, innumerable. These all died
in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and greeted
them from afar, and having confessed that they
were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things
make it manifest that they are seeking after a country of their own. And
if indeed they had been mindful of that country from which they went out,
they would have had opportunity to return. But now they desire a better
country, that is, a heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed of them, to
be called their God; for he hath prepared for them a city.
2 : 14 - What does it profit, my brethren, if a man say
he has faith, but has not works? can that faith save him? If a brother or sister be
naked and in lack of daily food, and one of you say to them, Go in peace,
be warmed and filled; and yet you give them not the things needful to
the body; what does it profit? Even so faith, if it have not works, is
dead in itself.
Faith - Creative Dynamic (Old Testament)
13 : 17 - And Moses sent them to
spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, Get you up this way by the
South, and go up into the hill-country: and see the land, what it is;
and the people that dwell therein, whether they are strong or weak, whether
they are few or many; and what the land is that they dwell in, whether
it is good or bad; and what cities they
are that they dwell in, whether in camps, or in strongholds; and what
the land is, whether it is fat or lean, whether there is wood therein,
or not. And be of good courage, and bring
of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the first-ripe
grapes. So they went up, and spied out the land from the wilderness of
Zin to Rehob, to the entrance of Hamath. And they went up by the South,
and came to Hebron; and Ahaiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of
Anak, were there. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)
And they came to the valley of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch
with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it upon a staff between two;
they brought also of the pomegranates, and of the figs. That place was
called the valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster which the children
of Israel cut down from thence. And they returned from spying out the
land at the end of forty days. And they went and came to Moses, and to
Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the wilderness
of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them, and to all the congregation,
and showed them the fruit of the land. And they told him, and said, We
came to the land whither you sent us; and surely it flows with milk and
honey; and this is the fruit of it. Howbeit the people that dwell in the
land are strong, and the cities are fortified, and very great: and moreover
we saw the children of Anak there. Amalek dwells in the land of the South:
and the Hittite, and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, dwell in the hill-country;
and the Canaanite dwells by the sea, and along by the side of the Jordan.
And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once,
and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
13 : 31 - But the men that went up with him said, We are not able
to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. And they brought
up an evil report of the land which they had spied out to the children
of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to spy it out,
is a land that eats up the inhabitants thereof and all the people that
we saw in it are men of great stature. And there we saw the Nephilim,
the sons of Anak, who come of the Nephilim: and we were in our own sight
as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. And all the congregation
lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. And
all the children of Israel murmured against
Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said to them, Would
that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would that we had died in this
wilderness! And wherefore does Jehovah bring us to this land, to fall
by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be a prey: were it not
better for us to return into Egypt? And they said one to another, Let
us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt. Then Moses and Aaron
fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the
children of Israel. And Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh,
who were of them that spied out the land, rent their clothes: and they
spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, The land,
which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceeding good land. If Jehovah
delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it to us;
a land which flows with milk and honey.
Numbers 21 : 1 - And when king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south, heard tell that Israel came by the way of the spies; then he fought against Israel, and took some of them prisoners. And Israel vowed a vow to the LORD, and said, If you will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities. And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah. And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way. And the people spoke against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loathes this light bread. And Jehovah sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. And the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, because we have spoken against Jehovah, and against you; pray to Jehovah, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And Jehovah said to Moses, Make you a fiery serpent, and set it upon a standard: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he sees it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and set it upon the standard: and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the serpent of brass, he lived.
1 Samuel 23 : 1 - And they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah, and are robbing the threshing-floors. Therefore David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And Jehovah said to David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah. And David’s men said to him, Behold, we are afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines? Then David inquired of Jehovah yet again. And Jehovah answered him, and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into your hand. And David and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their cattle, and slew them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.
1 Kings 18 : 41 - And Elijah said to Ahab, Get you up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain. So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he bowed himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees. And he said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there arises a cloud out of the sea, as small as a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say to Ahab, Make ready your chariot, and get you down, that the rain stop you not. And it came to pass in a little while, that the heavens grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel: and the hand of Jehovah was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
1 Chronicles 1 : 28 - The sons of Abraham: Isaac, and Ishmael. These are their generations: the first-born of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam, Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael. And the sons of Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan: Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Midian: Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah. And Abraham begat Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau, and Israel. The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah. The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, and Omar, Zephi, and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek. The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. And the sons of Seir: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan. And the sons of Lotan: Hori, and Homam; and Timna was Lotan’s sister. The sons of Shobal: Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And the sons of Zibeon: Aiah, and Anah. The sons of Anah: Dishon. And the sons of Dishon: Hamran, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran. ( 42 ) The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, Jaakan. The sons of Dishan: Uz, and Aran.
2 . 4 - the righteous shall live by his faith.
Faith - on Credit Account (New Testament)
Matthew 19 : 21 - Jesus said to him, If you wouldest be perfect, go, sell that which you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. But when the young man heard the saying, he went away sorrowful; for he was one that had great possessions. And Jesus said to his disciples, Verily I say to you, It is hard for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you, It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. And when the disciples heard it, they were astonished exceedingly, saying, Who then can be saved? And Jesus looking upon them said to them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Romans 4 : 3 - For what says the scripture? And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness.
Now to him that works, the reward is not reckoned as of grace, but as of debt. But to him that works not, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned for righteousness. Even as David also pronounces blessing upon the man, to whom God reckons righteousness apart from works, saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, And whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom, the Lord will not reckon sin.
Romans 4 : 16 - For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace; to the end that the promise may be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all (as it is written, A father of many nations have I made you) before him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead, and calls the things that are not, as though they were. Who in hope believed against hope, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, So shall your seed be.
And without being weakened in faith he considered his own body now as good as dead (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb; yet, looking to the promise of God, he wavered not through unbelief, but waxed strong through faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Wherefore also it was reckoned to him for righteousness.
James 2 : 21 - Was not Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son upon the altar?
You see that faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect; and the scripture was fulfilled which says, And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness; and he was called the friend of God.
You see that by works a man is justified, and not only by faith. And in like manner was not also Rahab the harlot justified by works, in that she received the messengers, and sent them out another way? For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.
Faith - on Credit Account (Old Testament)
Genesis 15 : 5 - And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and number the stars, if you be able to number them: and he said to him, So shall your seed be. And he believed in Jehovah; and he reckoned it to him for righteousness.
Joshua 2 : 1 - And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men as spies secretly, saying, Go, view the land, and Jericho. And they went and came into the house of a harlot whose name was Rahab, and lay there. And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to-night of the children of Israel to search out the land. And the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to you, that are entered into your house; for they are come to search out all the land. And the woman took the two men, and hid them; and she said, Yes, the men came to me, but I knew not whence they were: and it came to pass about the time of the shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out; whither the men went I know not: pursue after them quickly; for you will overtake them. But she had brought them up to the roof, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof. And the men pursued after them the way to the Jordan to the fords: and as soon as they that pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.
Psalm 32 : 1 - Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom Jehovah imputes not iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no guile.
Psalm 106 : 23 - Therefore he said that he would
destroy them, Had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach,
To turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.Yes, they despised the pleasant land, They believed not his word, But murmured in their tents, And hearkened not to the voice of Jehovah. Therefore he swore to them, That he would overthrow them in the wilderness, And that he would overthrow their seed among the nations, And scatter them in the lands. They joined themselves also to Baal-peor, And ate the sacrifices of the dead. Thus they provoked him to anger with their doings; And the plague broke in upon them. Then stood up
Phinehas, and executed judgment; And so the plague was stayed. And that
was reckoned to him for righteousness, To all generations for evermore.
Faith - Sowing and Reaping (New Testament)
Galatians 6 : 7 - Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap. For he that sows to his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
