Ears ( New Testament )

Matthew 11 : 15
He that has ears to hear, let him hear

Matthew 13 : 13 - this people's heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest haply they should perceive with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And should turn again, And I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.

Mark 4 : 9 - Unto you is given the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all things are done in parables: that seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand

John 2 : 5 - What ever he says to you, do it.

Romans 10 : 14 - How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!

Romans 10 : 16 - But they did not all hearken to the glad tidings. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our report? So belief comes of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. But I say, Did they not hear? Yes, verily, Their sound went out into all the earth, And their words to the ends of the world.

Romans 12 : 10 - be tenderly affectioned one to another; in honor preferring one another; in diligence not slothful; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing stedfastly in prayer

James 1 : 22 - But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding your own selves. For if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a mirror: for he beholds himself, and goes away, and straightway forgets what manner of man he was. But he that looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and so continues, being not a hearer that forgets but a doer that works, this man shall be blessed in his doing.

James 4: 3 - You ask, and receive not, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it in your pleasures.

Revelation 2 : 7 - He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him that overcomes, to him will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God.

Ears ( Old Testament )

Numbers 22 : 21 - And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab.
And God’s anger was kindled because he went; and the angel of Jehovah placed himself in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him. And the ass saw the angel of Jehovah standing in the way, with his sword drawn in his hand; and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way. Then the angel of Jehovah stood in a narrow path between the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that side. And the ass saw the angel of Jehovah, and she thrust herself to the wall, and crushed Balaam’s foot against the wall: and he smote her again. And the angel of Jehovah went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left. And the ass saw the angel of Jehovah, and she lay down under Balaam: and Balaam’s anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with his staff. And Jehovah opened the mouth of the ass, and she said to Balaam, What have I done to you, that you have smitten me these three times? And Balaam said to the ass, Because you have mocked me, I would there were a sword in my hand, for now I had killed you. And the ass said to Balaam, Am not I your ass, upon which you have ridden all your life long to this day? was I ever wont to do so to you? and he said, Nay. Then Jehovah opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of Jehovah standing in the way, with his sword drawn in his hand; and he bowed his head, and fell on his face. And the angel of Jehovah said to him, Wherefore have you smitten your ass these three times? behold, I am come forth for an adversary, because your way is perverse before me: and the ass saw me, and turned aside before me these three times: unless she had turned aside from me, surely now I had even slain you, and saved her alive. And Balaam said to the angel of Jehovah, I have sinned; for I knew not that you stood in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease you, I will get me back again. And the angel of Jehovah said to Balaam, Go with the men; but only the word that I shall speak to you, that you shalt speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak. And when Balak heard that Balaam was come, he went out to meet him to the City of Moab, which is on the border of the Arnon, which is in the utmost part of the border. And Balak said to Balaam, Did I not earnestly send to you to call you? wherefore came you not to me? am I not able indeed to promote you to honor? And Balaam said to Balak, Lo, I am come to you: have I now any power at all to speak anything? the word that God puts in my mouth, that shall I speak. And Balaam went with Balak, and they came to Kiriath-huzoth. And Balak sacrificed oxen and sheep, and sent to Balaam, and to the princes that were with him. And it came to pass in the morning, that Balak took Balaam, and brought him up into the high places of Baal; and he saw from thence the utmost part of the people.

1 Kings 19 :12 - and after the earthquake a fire; but Jehovah was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

Isaiah 6 : 9 - And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear you indeed, but understand not; and see you indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn again, and be healed.

Jeremiah 5 : 20 - Declare you this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying, Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; that have eyes, and see not; that have ears, and hear not: Fear you not me? says Jehovah

Jeremiah 6 : 10 - To whom shall I speak and testify, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of Jehovah is become unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.

Ezekiel 12 : 2 - The word of Jehovah also came to me, saying, Son of man, you dwell in the midst of the rebellious house, that have eyes to see, and see not, that have ears to hear, and hear not; for they are a rebellious house. And you shall bring forth your stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing; and you shall go forth yourself at even in their sight, as when men go forth into exile. Dig you through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby. In their sight shall you bear it upon your shoulder, and carry it forth in the dark; you shall cover your face, that you see not the land: for I have set you for a sign to the house of Israel. And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for removing, and in the even I digged through the wall with my hand; I brought it forth in the dark, and bore it upon my shoulder in their sight. And in the morning came the word of Jehovah to me, saying,Son of man, has not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said to you, What do you? Say you to them, Thus says the Lord Jehovah: This burden concerns the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel among whom they are. Say, I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done to them; they shall go into exile, into captivity. And the prince that is among them shall bear upon his shoulder in the dark, and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he shall cover his face, because he shall not see the land with his eyes. My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare; and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there. And I will scatter toward every wind all that are round about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them. And they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall disperse them among the nations, and scatter them through the countries. But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the nations whither they come; and they shall know that I am Jehovah. Moreover the word of Jehovah came to me, saying, Son of man, eat your bread with quaking, and drink your water with trembling and with fearfulness; and say to the people of the land, Thus says the Lord Jehovah concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the land of Israel: They shall eat their bread with fearfulness, and drink their water in dismay, that her land may be desolate, and despoiled of all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein. ( 20 ) And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be a desolation; and you shall know that I am Jehovah.
