A - What The Maker's Manual says -

Success - (New Testament)

Luke 6 : 38 ... give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure you mete it shall be measured to you again. And he spoke also a parable to them, Can the blind guide the blind? shall they not both fall into a pit?

Luke 18 : 24 - Jesus seeing him said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. And they that heard it said, Then who can be saved? But he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God

Ephesians 6 : 5 - Servants, be obedient to them that according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; not in the way of eyeservice, as men-pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not unto men: knowing that whatever good thing each one does, the same shall he receive again from the Lord, whether he be bond or free

Ephesians 6 : 9 - And, you masters, do the same things to them, and forbear threatening: knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no respect of persons with him.

Success - (Old Testament)

Genesis 26 : 12 - And Isaac sowed in that land, and found in the same year a hundredfold: and Jehovah blessed him. And the man waxed great, and grew more and more until he became very great: and he had possessions of flocks, and possessions of herds, and a great household: and the Philistines envied him.

Numbers 23 : 27 - And Balak said to Balaam, Come, I pray you, I will bring you to another place; peradventure it will please God that you may curse me them from thence. And Balak brought Balaam to the top of Peor, that looks toward Jeshimon. And Balaam said to Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams. And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.

Numbers 24 : 1 - And when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness. And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon him. And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor has said, and the man whose eyes are open has said: He has said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open: How goodly are your tents, O Jacob, and your tabernacles, O Israel! As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river’s side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD has planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters. He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted. God brought him forth out of Egypt; he has as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows. He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesses you, and cursed is he that curses you.

Joshua 1 : 6 - Be strong and of good courage; for you shalt cause this people to inherit the land which I sware to their fathers to give them.
Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded you: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.
This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate thereon day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. Have not I commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not affrighted, neither be you dismayed: for Jehovah your God is with you whithersoever you go ( 9 ).

Psalm 1 : 1 - Blessed is the man that does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stands in the way of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of scoffers: But his delight is in the law of Jehovah; And on his law he meditates day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also does not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. The wicked are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous; But the way of the wicked shall perish.

Psalm 75 : 1 - For the Chief Musician; set to Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song. We give thanks to you, O God; We give thanks, for your name is near: Men tell of your wondrous works. When I shall find the set time, I will judge uprightly. The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I have set up the pillars of it. [Selah] I said to the arrogant, Deal not arrogantly; And to the wicked, Lift not up the horn: Lift not up your horn on high; Speak not with a stiff neck. For neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor yet from the south, comes lifting up. But God is the judge: He puts down one, and lifts up another. For in the hand of Jehovah there is a cup, and the wine foams; It is full of mixture, and he pours out of the same: Surely the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall drain them, and drink them. But I will declare for ever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; But the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.

Isaiah 60 : 20 - Your sun shall no more go down, neither shall your moon withdraw itself; for Jehovah will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended. Your people also shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. The little one shall become a thousand, and the small one a strong nation; I, Jehovah, will hasten it in its time.

God The Maker's Success Formula (New Testament)

Luke 14 : 28 - For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has wherewith to complete it?

Luke 21 : 34 - But take heed to yourselves, lest haply your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come on you suddenly as a snare: for so shall it come upon all them that dwell on the face of all the earth. But watch at every season, making supplication, that you may prevail to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Acts 24 : 25 - But after certain days, Felix came with Drusilla, his wife, who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ Jesus. And as he reasoned of righteousness, and self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered, Go your way for this time; and when I have a convenient season, I will call you to me. He hoped withal that money would be given him of Paul: wherefore also he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him. But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus; and desiring to gain favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul in bonds.

1 Corinthians 6 : 12 - All things are lawful for me; but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me; but I will not be brought under the power of any. Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall bring to nought both it and them. But the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body:

2 Corinthians 1 : 12 - For our glorifying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. For we write no other things to you, than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will acknowledge to the end: as also you did acknowledge us in part, that we are your glorying, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

Galatians 5 : 22 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, self-control; against such there is no law.

Philippians 4 : 13 - I can do all things in him that strengthens me.

2 Thessalonians 1 : 11 - To which end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfil every desire of goodness and every work of faith, with power; that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

God The Maker's Success Formula (Old Testament)

Deuteronomy 7 : 16 - And you shall consume all the people which the LORD your God shall deliver you; your eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shall you serve their gods; for that will be a snare to you. If you shall say in your heart, These nations are more than I ; how can I dispossess them? You shall not be afraid of them: but shall well remember what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh, and to all Egypt; The great temptations which your eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD your God brought you out: so shall the LORD your God do to all the people of whom you are afraid. Moreover the LORD your God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from you, be destroyed. You shall not be affrighted at them: for the LORD your God is among you, a mighty God and terrible. And the LORD your God will put out those nations before you by little and little: you may not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon you. But the LORD your God shall deliver them to you, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed. And he shall deliver their kings into your hand, and you shall destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before you, until you have destroyed them. The graven images of their gods shall you burn with fire: you shall not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it to you, lest you be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD your God. Neither shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be a cursed thing like it: but you shalt utterly detest it, and you shall utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing. ( 26 End )

Deuteronomy 28 : 1 - And it shall come to pass, if you shall hearken diligently to the voice of Jehovah your God, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you this day, that Jehovah your God will set you on high above all the nations of the earth: and all these blessings shall come upon you, and overtake you, if you shall hearken to the voice of Jehovah your God. Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your beasts, the increase of your cattle, and the young of your flock. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading-trough. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. Jehovah will cause your enemies that rise up against you to be smitten before you: they shall come out against you one way, and shall flee before you seven ways. Jehovah will command the blessing upon you in your barns, and in all that you put your hand to; and he will bless you in the land which Jehovah your God gives you. Jehovah will establish you for a holy people to himself, as he has sworn to you; if you shall keep the commandments of Jehovah your God, and walk in his ways.( 9 )

1 Chronicles 4 : 24 - The sons of Simeon: Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul; Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son. And the sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son. And Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brethren had not many children, neither did all their family multiply like to the children of Judah. And they dwelt at Beer-sheba, and Moladah, and Hazarshual, and at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad, and at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag, and at Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susim, and at Beth-biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities until the reign of David. And their villages were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities; and all their villages that were round about the same cities, to Baal. These were their habitations, and they have their genealogy. And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah, and Joel, and Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel, and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah, and Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah- these mentioned by name were princes in their families: and their fathers’ houses increased greatly. And they went to the entrance of Gedor, even to the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks. And they found fat pasture and good, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceable; for they that dwelt there aforetime were of Ham. And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents, and the Meunim that were found there, and destroyed them utterly to this day, and dwelt in their stead; because there was pasture there for their flocks. And some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi. ( 43 End ) And they smote the remnant of the Amalekites that escaped, and have dwelt there to this day

1 Chronicles 18 : 1 - And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and its towns out of the hand of the Philistines. And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute. And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah to Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates. And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David hocked all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for a hundred chariots. And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succor Hadarezer king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men. Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. And Jehovah gave victory to David wherever he went. And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem. And from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadarezer, David took very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass. And when Tou king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah, he sent Hadoram his son to king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadarezer and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had wars with Tou;) and he had with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass. These also did king David dedicate to Jehovah, with the silver and the gold that he carried away from all the nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek. Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah smote of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt eighteen thousand. And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. And Jehovah gave victory to David wherever he went. And David reigned over all Israel; and he executed justice and righteousness to all his people. And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder; and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Shavsha was scribe; and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king ( 17 End )

2 Chronicles 24 : 17 - Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king hearkened to them. And they forsook the house of Jehovah, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherim and the idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their guiltiness. Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again to Jehovah; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear. ( 20 ) And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest; and he stood above the people, and said to them, Thus says God, Why transgress you the commandments of Jehovah, so that you cannot prosper? because you have forsaken Jehovah, he has also forsaken you. And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of Jehovah. Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, Jehovah look upon it, and require it. And it came to pass at the end of the year, that the army of the Syrians came up against him: and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all the spoil of them to the king of Damascus. For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men; and Jehovah delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken Jehovah, the God of their fathers. So they executed judgment upon Joash. And when they were departed for him (for they left him very sick), his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died; and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the sepulchres of the kings. And these are they that conspired against him: Zabad the son of Shimeath the Ammonitess, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith the Moabitess. Now concerning his sons, and the greatness of the burdens laid upon him, and the rebuilding of the house of God, behold, they are written in the commentary of the book of the kings. And Amaziah his son reigned in his stead (27 End )

Proverbs 3 : 1 - My son, forget not my law; But let your heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and years of life, And peace, will they add to you. Let not kindness and truth forsake you: Bind them about your neck; Write them upon the tablet of your heart: So shall you find favor and good understanding In the sight of God and man. Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding: In all your ways acknowledge him, And he will direct your paths.

Proverbs 6 : 20 - My son, keep the commandment of your father, And forsake not the law of your mother: Bind them continually upon your heart; Tie them about your neck. When you walk, it shall lead you; When you sleep, it shall watch over you; And when you awake, it shall talk with you. For the commandment is a lamp; And the law is light; And reproofs of instruction are the way of life: To keep you from the evil woman, From the flattery of the foreigner's tongue. Lust not after her beauty in your heart; Neither let her take you with her eyelids. For on account of a harlot a man is brought to a piece of bread; And the adulteress hunts for the precious life. Can a man take fire in his bosom, And his clothes not be burned? Or can one walk on hot coals, And his feet not be scorched? (28 )

Proverbs 10 : 22 - The blessing of Jehovah, it makes rich; And he adds no sorrow therewith. It is as sport to a fool to do wickedness; And so is wisdom to a man of understanding. The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him; And the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
When the whirlwind passeth, the wicked is no more; But the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

Proverbs 12 : 14 - A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth; And the doings of a man's hands shall be rendered to him. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes; But he that is wise hearkens to counsel. A fool's vexation is presently known; But a prudent man conceals shame. He that utters truth shows forth righteousness; But a false witness, deceit. There is that speaks rashly like the piercings of a sword; But the tongue of the wise is health. The lip of truth shall be established for ever; But a lying tongue is but for a moment. Deceit is in the heart of them that devise evil; But to the counsellors of peace is joy. There shall no mischief happen to the righteous; But the wicked shall be filled with evil. Lying lips are an abomination to Jehovah; But they that deal truly are his delight. A prudent man conceals knowledge; But the heart of fools proclaims foolishness. The hand of the diligent shall bear rule; But the slothful shall be put under taskwork. Heaviness in the heart of a man makes it stoop; But a good word makes it glad. The righteous is a guide to his neighbor; But the way of the wicked causes them to err. The slothful man roasts not that which he took in hunting; But the precious substance of men is to the diligent.
In the way of righteousness is life; And in the pathway thereof there is no death.( 28 End )

Proverbs 16 : 33 - (Proverbs 25 : 28) - Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, Than a house full of feasting with strife. A servant that deals wisely shall have rule over a son that causes shame, And shall have part in the inheritance among the brethren.

Haggai 1 : 1 - In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of Jehovah by Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying, Thus speaks Jehovah of hosts, saying, This people say, It is not the time for us to come, the time for Jehovah's house to be built.

Haggai 1 : 10 - Therefore for your sake the heavens withhold the dew, and the earth withholds its fruit. And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the grain, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground brings forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labor of the hands. Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of Jehovah their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as Jehovah their God had sent him; and the people did fear before Jehovah. Then spake Haggai Jehovah's messenger in Jehovah's message to the people, saying, I am with you, says Jehovah. And Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work on the house of Jehovah of hosts, their God, in the four and twentieth day of the month, in the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.

Use What You Got (New Testament)

Matthew 26 : 6 - Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, There came to him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste? For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor. When Jesus understood it, he said to them, Why trouble you the woman? for she has wrought a good work upon me. For you have the poor always with you; but me you have not always. For in that she has poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. Verily I say to you, Whereever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman has done, be told for a memorial of her.

Mark 14 : 1 - After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death. But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.
And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she broke the box, and poured it on his head. And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her. And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble you her? she has wrought a good work on me. For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you will you may do them good: but me you have not always. She has done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying. Verily I say to you, Whereever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she has done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

Luke 16 : 8 - And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light. And I say to you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when you fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations. He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?

Acts 20 : 13 - But we going before to the ship set sail for Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, intending himself to go by land. And when he met us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene. And sailing from thence, we came the following day over against Chios; and the next day we touched at Samos; and the day after we came to Miletus. For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, that he might not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hastening, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

Philippians 3 : 13 - forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal

Philemon 11 - I beseech you for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds: Which in time past was to you unprofitable, but now profitable to you and to me: Whom I have sent again: you therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels: Whom I would have retained with me, that in your stead he might have ministered to me in the bonds of the gospel: But without your mind would I do nothing; that your benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.

Hebrews 2 : 1 - Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things that were heard, lest haply we drift away from them. For if the word spoken through angels proved stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation?

James 1 : 22 - But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding your own selves. For if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a mirror: for he beholds himself, and goes away, and straightway forgets what manner of man he was. But he that looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and so continues, being not a hearer that forgets but a doer that works, this man shall be blessed in his doing.

1 Peter 1 : 9 - you rejoice greatly with joy unspeakable and full of glory: receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

2 Peter 1 : 10 - Wherefore, brethren, give the more diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if you do these things, you shall never stumble.

Use What You Got (Old Testament)

Genesis 15 : 8 - And he said to him, I am Jehovah that brought you out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give you this land to inherit it. And he said, O Lord Jehovah, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it? And he said to him, Take me a heifer three years old, and a she-goat three years old, and a ram three years old, and a turtle-dove, and a young pigeon. And he took him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each half over against the other: but the birds divided he not. And the birds of prey came down upon the carcasses, and Abram drove them away. And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, a horror of great darkness fell upon him. .... And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold, a smoking furnace, and a flaming torch that passed between these pieces.

2 Kings 4 : 2 - Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets to Elisha, saying, TYour servant my husband is dead; and you know that your servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take to him my two sons to be bondmen. And Elisha said to her, What shall I do for you? tell me, what have you in the house? And she said, Your handmaid has not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. Then he said, Go, borrow you vessels abroad of all your neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. And when you are come in, you shall shut the door upon you and upon tyour sons, and shall pour out into all those vessels, and you shall set aside that which is full. So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said to her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt, and live you and your children of the rest.

Nehemiah 2 : 1 - And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, when wine was before him, that I took up the wine, and gave it to the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence. And the king said to me, Why is your countenance sad, seeing you are not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid. And I said to the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ sepulchres, lies waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire? Then the king said to me, For what do you make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven. Then the king said to me, For what do you make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven. And I said to the king, If it please the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, that you would send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ sepulchres, that I may build it. And the king said to me (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall your journey be? and when will you return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time. Moreover I said to the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the River, that they may let me pass through till I come to Judah; and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king’s forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the castle which appertains to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me. Narrative continued below Under 'Set your Sights' ( 8 )

Psalm 44 : 1 - We have heard with our ears, O God, Our fathers have told us, What work you did in their days, In the days of old. You did drive out the nations with your hand; But them you did plant: You did afflict the peoples; But them you did spread abroad. For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, Neither did their own arm save them; But your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your countenance, Because you were favorable to them. You are my King, O God: Command deliverance for Jacob. Through you will we push down our adversaries: Through your name will we tread them under that rise up against us. For I will not trust in my bow, Neither shall my sword save me. But you have saved us from our adversaries, And have put them to shame that hate us. In God have we made our boast all the day long, And we will give thanks to your name for ever.

.Psalm 85 : 8 - I will hear what God Jehovah will speak; For he will speak peace to his people, and to his saints: But let them not turn again to folly. Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him, That glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth are met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth springs out of the earth; And righteousness has looked down from heaven. Yes, Jehovah will give that which is good; And our land shall yield its increase. Righteousness shall go before him, And shall make his footsteps a way to walk in

Amos 6 : 8 - The Lord Jehovah has sworn by himself, says Jehovah, the God of hosts: I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces; therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein. And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die. And when a man's uncle shall take him up, even he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say to him that is in the innermost parts of the house, Is there yet any with you? and he shall say, No; then shall he say, Hold your peace; for we may not make mention of the name of Jehovah. For, behold, Jehovah commands, and the great house shall be smitten with breaches, and the little house with clefts. Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? thut ye have turned justice into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood; you that rejoice in a thing of nought, that say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength? For, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, says Jehovah, the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entrance of Hamath to the brook of the Arabah ( 14 End )

Set your Sights (New Testament)

Matthew 6 : 19 - Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust does consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Mark 6 : 6 - And he called to him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits; and he charged them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no bread, no wallet, no money in their purse;
but to go shod with sandals: and, said he, put not on two coats. And he said to them, Whereever you enter into a house, there abide till you depart thence. And whatever place shall not receive you, and they hear you not, as you go forth thence, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony to them. And they went out, and preached that men should repent. And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

1 Corinthians 9 : 25 - And every man that strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, as not uncertainly; so fight I, as not beating the air: but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.

1 Corinthians 15 : 42 - So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: it is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. Howbeit that is not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; then that which is spiritual.

2 Corinthians 2 : 1 - But I determined this for myself, that I would not come again to you with sorrow. For if I make you sorry, who then is he that makes me glad but he that is made sorry by me? And I wrote this very thing, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all. For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears; not that you should be made sorry, but that you might know the love that I have more abundantly to you.

2 Timothy 2 : 5 - And if also a man contend in the games, he is not crowned, except he have contended lawfully. The husbandmen that labors must be the first to partake of the fruits. Consider what I say; for the Lord shall give you understanding in all things.

Hebrews 11 : 32 - And what shall I more say? for the time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah; of David and Samuel and the prophets: who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, waxed mighty in war, turned to flight armies of aliens. Women received their dead by a resurrection: and others were tortured, not accepting their deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: and others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: they were stoned, they were sawn asunder, they were tempted, they were slain with the sword: they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, ill-treated (of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts and mountains and caves, and the holes of the earth. And these all, having had witness borne to them through their faith, received not the promise, God having provided some better thing concerning us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect

1 Peter 1 : 3 - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begot us again to a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in heaven for you, who by the power of God are guarded through faith to a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Set your Sights (Old Testament).

Genesis 35 : 14 - And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he spoke with him, a pillar of stone: and he poured out a drink-offering thereon, and poured oil thereon. And Jacob called the name of the place where God spoke with him, Beth-el.

Joshua 1 : 10 - Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, Pass through the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which Jehovah your God gives you to possess it.

Joshua 18 : 1 - And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled themselves together at Shiloh, and set up the tent of meeting there: and the land was subdued before them. And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet divided their inheritance. And Joshua said to the children of Israel, How long are you slack to go in to possess the land, which Jehovah, the God of your fathers, has given you? Appoint for you three men of each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall arise, and walk through the land, and describe it according to their inheritance; and they shall come to me. And they shall divide it into seven portions: Judah shall abide in his border on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their border on the north. And you shall describe the land into seven portions, and bring the description hither to me; and I will cast lots for you here before Jehovah our God. For the Levites have no portion among you; for the priesthood of Jehovah is their inheritance: and Gad and Reuben and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan eastward, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave them. And the men arose, and went: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me; and I will cast lots for you here before Jehovah in Shiloh. And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven portions in a book; and they came to Joshua to the camp at Shiloh. And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before Jehovah: and there Joshua divided the land to the children of Israel according to their divisions.

Judges 6 : 14 - And Jehovah looked on him, and said, Go in this your might, and save Israel from the hand of Midian: have not I sent you?
And he said to him, Oh, Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house. And Jehovah said to him, Surely I will be with you, and you shall smite the Midianites as one man.

Nehemiah 2 : 9 - (Narrative continued from above 'Use What You Got') Then I came to the governors beyond the River, and gave them the king’s letters. Now the king had sent with me captains of the army and horsemen. And when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly, for that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel. So I came to Jerusalem, and was there three days. And I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man what my God put into my heart to do for Jerusalem; neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I rode upon. And I went out by night by the valley gate, even toward the jackal’s well, and to the dung gate, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire. Then I went on to the fountain gate and to the king’s pool: but there was no place for the beast that was under me to pass.Narrative continued below Under 'Go for It''

Go for It (New Testament)

Matthew 25 : 20 - And he that received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, you delivered to me five talents: lo, I have gained other five talents. His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant: you have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things; enter into the joy of your lord. And he also that received the two talents came and said, Lord, you delivered to me two talents: lo, I have gained other two talents. His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant: you have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things; enter into the joy of your lord. And he also that had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew you that you area hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter; and I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth: lo, you have your own. But his lord answered and said to him, You wicked and slothful servant, you knew that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I did not scatter; you ought therefore to have put my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest. Take you away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him that has the ten talents. For to every one that has shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that has not, even that which he has shall be taken away. ( 30 ) And cast you out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

John 2 : 13 - And he found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
and he made a scourge of cords, and cast all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew their tables; and to them that sold the doves he said, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house a house of merchandise. His disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for your house shall eat me up.

Acts 20 : 24 - But I hold not my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may accomplish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Romans 12 : 11 - Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. In love of the brethren be tenderly affectioned one to another; in honor preferring one another; in diligence not slothful; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing stedfastly in prayer;

Colossians 3 : 17 - And whatsoever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Revelation 3 : 15 - And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God: I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew you out of my mouth. Because you say, I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing; and know not that you are the wretched one and miserable and poor and blind and naked: I counsel you to buy of me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness be not made manifest; and eyesalve to anoint your eyes, that you may see. As many as I love, I reprove and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Go for It (Old Testament)

Joshua 19 : 40 - The seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families. And the border of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Ir-shemesh, and Shaalabbin, and Aijalon, and Ithlah, and Elon, and Timnah, and Ekron, and Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath, and Jehud, and Bene-berak, and Gath-rimmon, and Me-jarkon, and Rakkon, with the border over against Joppa. And the border of the children of Dan went out beyond them; for the children of Dan went up and fought against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages. ( 48 )

1 Samuel 14 : 7 - Now it fell upon a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said to the young man that bore his armor, Come, and let us go over to the Philistines’ garrison, that is on yonder side. But he told not his father.
And Saul abode in the uttermost part of Gibeah under the pomegranate-tree which is in Migron: and the people that were with him were about six hundred men; and Ahijah, the son of Ahitub, Ichabod’s brother, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eli, the priest of Jehovah in Shiloh, wearing an ephod. And the people knew not that Jonathan was gone. And between the passes, by which Jonathan sought to go over to the Philistines’ garrison, there was a rocky crag on the one side, and a rocky crag on the other side: and the name of the one was Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh. The one crag rose up on the north in front of Michmash, and the other on the south in front of Geba. And Jonathan said to the young man that bore his armor, Come, and let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be thatJehovah will work for us; for there is no restraint to Jehovah to save by many or by few. And his armorbearer said to him, Do all that is in your heart: turn you, behold, I am with you according to your heart.

1 Samuel 17 : 1 - Now the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle; and they were gathered together at Socoh, which belongs to Judah, and encamped between Socoh and Azekah, in Ephes-dammim. And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and encamped in the vale of Elah, and set the battle in array against the Philistines. And the Philistines stood on the mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on the mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them. And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. And he had a helmet of brass upon his head, and he was clad with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass. And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a javelin of brass between his shoulders. And the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and his shield-bearer went before him.And he stood and cried to the armies of Israel, and said to them, Why are you come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and you servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me. If he be able to fight with me, and kill me, then will we be your servants; but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall you be our servants, and serve us.And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together. And when Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid. Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Beth-lehem-judah, whose name was Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man was an old man in the days of Saul, stricken in years among men. And the three eldest sons of Jesse had gone after Saul to the battle: and the names of his three sons that went to the battle were Eliab the first-born, and next to him Abinadab, and the third Shammah. And David was the youngest; and the three eldest followed Saul. Now David went to and fro from Saul to feed his father’s sheep at Beth-lehem. And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days. And Jesse said to David his son, Take now for your brethren an ephah of this parched grain, and these ten loaves, and carry them quickly to the camp to your your brethren fare, and take their pledge. Now Saul, and they, and all the men of Israel, were in the vale of Elah, fighting with the Philistines. And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the place of the wagons, as the host which was going forth to the fight shouted for the battle. And Israel and the Philistines put the battle in array, army against army. And David left his baggage in the hand of the keeper of the baggage, and ran to the army, and came and saluted his brethren. And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the ranks of the Philistines, and spoke according to the same words: and David heard them. And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid. And the men of Israel said, Have you seen this man that is come up? surely to defy Israel is he come up: and it shall be, that the man who kills him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father’s house free in Israel. And David spoke to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that kills this Philistine, and takes away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God? And the people answered him after this manner, saying, So shall it be done to the man that kills him. And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why are you come down? and with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride, and the naughtiness of your heart; for you are come down that you might see the battle. And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause? And he turned away from him toward another, and spoke after the same manner: and the people answered him again after the former manner. And when the words were heard which David spoke, they rehearsed them before Saul; and he sent for him. And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine. And Saul said to David, You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth. And David said to Saul, Your servant was keeping his father’s sheep; and when there came a lion, or a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth; and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. Your servant smote both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God. And David said, Jehovah that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. ( 37 )And Saul said to David, Go, and Jehovah shall be with you. Narrative continued under topic 'Work - Love it! 1 Samuel 17 : 38)

1 Samuel 17 : 52 - And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until you come to Gai, and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even to Gath, and to Ekron. And the children of Israel returned from chasing after the Philistines, and they plundered their camp. And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armor in his tent. And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said to Abner, the captain of the host, Abner, whose son is this youth? And Abner said, As your soul lives, O king, I cannot tell. And the king said, Inquire you whose son the stripling is. And as David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, Abner took him, and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand. And Saul said to him, Whose son are you, you young man? And David answered, I am the son of your servant Jesse the Beth-lehemite.

2 Kings 7 : 1 - And Elisha said, Hear you the word of Jehovah: thus says Jehovah, To-morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria. Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if Jehovah should make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, you shall see it with your eyes, but shall not eat thereof. Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there; and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall to the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die. And they rose up in the twilight, to go to the camp of the Syrians; and when they were come to the outermost part of the camp of the Syrians, behold, there was no man there. For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us. Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life. And when these lepers came to the outermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it; and they came back, and entered into another tent, and carried thence also, and went and hid it. Then they said one to another, We do not well; this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, punishment will overtake us; now therefore come, let us go and tell the king’s household. So they came and called to the porter of the city; and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but the horses tied, and the asses tied, and the tents as they were. And he called the porters; and they told it to the king’s household within.
And the king arose in the night, and said to his servants, I will now show you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we are hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall take them alive, and get into the city. And one of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray you, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city (behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it; behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are consumed); and let us send and see. They took therefore two chariots with horses; and the king sent after the host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see. And they went after them to the Jordan: and, lo, all the way was full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the messengers returned, and told the king. And the people went out, and plundered the camp of the Syrians. So a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of Jehovah. And the king appointed the captain on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the gate: and the people trod upon him in the gate, and he died as the man of God had said, who spake when the king came down to him. And it came to pass, as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be to-morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria; and that captain answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if Jehovah should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? and he said, Behold, you shall see it with your eyes, but shall not eat thereof: it came to pass even so to him; for the people trod upon him in the gate, and he died ( 20 End )

2 Chronicles 13 : 10 - But as for us, Jehovah is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and we have priests ministering to Jehovah, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites in their work: and they burn to Jehovah every morning and every evening burnt-offerings and sweet incense: the showbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of Jehovah our God; but you have forsaken him. And, behold, God is with us at our head, and his priests with the trumpets of alarm to sound an alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight you not against Jehovah, the God of your fathers; for you shall not prosper. But Jeroboam caused an ambushment to come about behind them: so they were before Judah, and the ambushment was behind them. And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind them; and they cried to Jehovah, and the priests sounded with the trumpets. Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. And the children of Israel fled before Judah; and God delivered them into their hand.

Nehemiah 2 : 11 - Narrative continued from above 'Set Your Sights' - Then went I up in the night by the brook, and viewed the wall; and I turned back, and entered by the valley gate, and so returned. And the rulers knew not whither I went, or what I did; neither had I as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work. Then said I to them, You see the evil case that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach. And I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me, as also of the king’s words that he had spoken to me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for the good work. But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that you do? will you rebel against the king? Then answered I them, and said to them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but you have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.

Nehemiah 13 : 11 - And I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them; so that the Levites and the singers, that did the work, were fled every one to his field. Then contended I with the rulers, and said, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together, and set them in their place. Then brought all Judah the tithe of the grain and the new wine and the oil to the treasuries. And I made treasurers over the treasuries, Shelemiah the priest, and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedaiah: and next to them was Hanan the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah; for they were counted faithful, and their business was to distribute to their brethren.
Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and wipe not out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for the observances thereof.

Psalm 2 : 6 - Ask of me, and I will give you the nations for thine inheritance, And the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. Now therefore be wise, O you kings: Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve Jehovah with fear, And rejoice with trembling. Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, For his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all they that take refuge in him.

Psalm 69 : 6 - Let not them that wait on you, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek you be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel. Because for your sake I have borne reproach; shame has covered my face. I am become a stranger to my brethren, and an alien to my mother’s children. For the zeal of your house has eaten me up; And the reproaches of them that reproach you are fallen upon me.When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, That was to my reproach. When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a byword to them. They that sit in the gate talk of me; And I am the song of the drunkards. But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Jehovah, in an acceptable time: O God, in the abundance of your lovingkindness, Answer me in the truth of your salvation. Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters. Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me. Hear me, O LORD; for your lovingkindness is good: turn to me according to the multitude of your tender mercies. And hide not tyour face from your servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily. Draw nigh to my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of my enemies. You have known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: my adversaries are all before you.

Psalm 127 : 1 - A Song of Ascents; of Solomon. Except Jehovah build the house, They labor in vain that build it: Except Jehovah keep the city, The watchman wakes but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, To take rest late, To eat the bread of toil; For so he gives to his beloved sleep. Lo, children are a heritage of Jehovah; And the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, So are the children of youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: They shall not be put to shame, When they speak with their enemies in the gate.

Proverbs 24 : 30 - I went by the field of the sluggard, And by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, The face thereof was covered with nettles, And the stone wall thereof was broken down. Then I beheld, and considered well; I saw, and Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep; So shall your poverty come as a robber, And your want as an armed man.

Ecclesiastes 2 : 1 - I said in my heart, Come now, I will prove you with mirth; therefore enjoy pleasure: and, behold, this also was vanity. I said of laughter, It is mad; and of mirth, What does it? I searched in my heart how to cheer my flesh with wine, my heart yet guiding me with wisdom, and how to lay hold on folly, till I might see what it was good for the sons of men that they should do under heaven all the days of their life. I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards; I made me gardens and parks, and I planted trees in them of all kinds of fruit; I made me pools of water, to water therefrom the forest where trees were reared; I bought men-servants and maid-servants, and had servants born in my house; also I had great possessions of herds and flocks, above all that were before me in Jerusalem; I gathered me also silver and gold, and the treasure of kings and of the provinces; I got me men-singers and women-singers, and the delights of the sons of men, musical instruments, and that of all sorts. So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me. And whatever my eyes desired I kept not from them; I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced because of all my labor; and this was my portion from all my labor. Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labor that I had labored to do; and, behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was no profit under the sun.

Ecclesiastes 9 : 10 - Whatsoever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, whither you go. I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happens to them all. For man also knows not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, even so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them

Isaiah 54 : 1 - Sing, O barren, you that did not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you that did not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, says Jehovah. Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of your habitations; spare not: lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. For you shall spread abroad on the right hand and on the left; and your seed shall possess the nations, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

- Prosperity (New Testament)

Philppians 4 : 19 - But I have all things, and abound: I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things that came from you, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God. And my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

2 Peter 1 : 3 - seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that called us by his own glory and virtue

- Prosperity (Old Testament)

Job 42 : 12 - So Jehovah blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: And he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses. He had also seven sons and three daughters. And he called the name of the first, Jemimah: and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch. And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. And after this Job lived a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, even four generations. So Job died, being old and full of days.

Psalm 72 : 7 - In his days shall the righteous flourish, And abundance of peace, till the moon be no more. He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, And from the River unto the ends of the earth. They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; And his enemies shall lick the dust. The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall render tribute: The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. Yes, all kings shall fall down before him; All nations shall serve him.

Proverbs 3 : 2 - My son, forget not my law; But let your heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and years of life, And peace, will they add to you. Let not kindness and truth forsake you: Bind them about your neck; Write them upon the tablet of your heart: So shall you find favor and good understanding In the sight of God and man.

Proverbs 8 : 18 - Riches and honor are with me; Yes, durable wealth and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold; And my revenue than choice silver. I walk in the way of righteousness, In the midst of the paths of justice; That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance, And that I may fill their treasuries.

Proverbs 10 : 22 - The blessing of Jehovah, it makes rich; And he adds no sorrow therewith.

Proverbs 20 : 13 - Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; Open your eyes, and you shall be satisfied with bread.

Proverbs 28 : 19 - He that tills his land shall have plenty of bread; But he that follows after vain persons shall have poverty enough. A faithful man shall abound with blessings; But he that makes haste to be rich shall not be unpunished. To have respect of persons is not good; Neither that a man should transgress for a piece of bread. he that has an evil eye hastes after riches, And knows not that want shall come upon him.

Isaiah 30 : 23 - And he will give the rain for your seed, wherewith you shall sow the ground; and bread of the increase of the ground, and it shall be fat and plenteous. In that day shall your cattle feed in large pastures; the oxen likewise and the young asses that till the ground shall eat savory provender, which has been winnowed with the shovel and with the fork.

Jeremiah 32 : 42 - For thus says Jehovah: Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them. And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof you say, It is desolate, without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans. Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe the deeds, and seal them, and call witnesses, in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the hill-country, and in the cities of the lowland, and in the cities of the South: for I will cause their captivity to return, saiys Jehovah.

Jeremiah 33 : 1 - Moreover the word of Jehovah came to Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the guard, saying, Thus says Jehovah that doeth it, Jehovah that formed it to establish it; Jehovah is his name: Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great things, and difficult, which you know not. For thus says Jehovah, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are broken down to make a defence against the mounds and against the sword; while men come to fight with the Chaldeans, and to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in my anger and in my wrath, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city: Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them; and I will reveal to them abundance of peace and truth. And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first. And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned against me, and whereby they have transgressed against me. And this city shall be to me for a name of joy, for a praise and for a glory, before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do to them, and shall fear and tremble for all the good and for all the peace that I procure unto it ( 9 ).
